As wildfires continue to impact communities in central and western Canada, trained Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) volunteers stand ready to deploy through the SARVAC Humanitarian Workforce (HWF) program.

Insured and deployable GSAR teams are prepared to assist at all levels—municipal, provincial, and federal—working alongside local authorities, provincial agencies, and NGOs.

GSAR volunteers can support wildfire response in:
• Search, rescue, and recovery
• First aid and wellness checks
• Communications and geomatics
• Logistics and incident management
• Traffic control and general labour

In the past year, GSAR teams have contributed to wildfire response in Labrador and Alberta, providing critical support during evacuations and recovery.

Thank you to all volunteers and partners helping protect our communities.
